WELCOME TO THE TAICHI DAD
Welcome to my personal page, “The Taichi Dad”. On this page I post my personal musings about all kinds of random things with a focus on parenting from the perspective of a second generation CBC (Canadian Born Chinese). So why the “Taichi Dad”? The simplest answer is of course I have the privilege of being a dad to an absolutely wonderful daughter so that's the "Dad" part. The "Taichi" part is because I've studied Taekwondo in my youth and the martial art of Chen Style Taichi Chuan thereafter (pinyin Chen Shi Taijiquan) for over 2 decades. Both martial arts have a strong relationship with the philopsohpy known as "Taoism (pinyin Daoism), so naturally it filters down to how I observe the world and how I approach being a parent to my awesome daughter.

WHO AM I？
My name is Warmond Fang, I’m a CBC or Canadian Born Chinese. I’m supposedly a banana, yellow on the outside, white on the inside, which may or may not be true but I'm definitely “All Dad”. I was born and raised in rural Ontario but finished highschool and university in Toronto and beyond.
True to my CBC heritage, I originally had zero command of the Chinese language, though today I am fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. I was also a chronic slacker and underachiever in school but still somehow managed to finish my Bachelors degree at York University and received my Master’s Degree at the University of Hong Kong. My journey through higher education was not what you would call normal by any stretch of the imagination but it did give me many insights in helping others find success in academia and beyond. This led to a rewarding career in education consultanting, though my full time gig remains being the "coolest" dad I can be to my daughter.
When I’m not helping people achieve their educational dreams, you can find me practicing Tai Chi, Taekwondo, Alpine Skiing and goofing off with my daughter all around the GTA, Canada and hopefully after the pandemic is over, “all round the world”.
